Okay, felt a little unsure exactly where to post this, but I figured it could be classed as a skill.

So, anyone out there have any experience with them, I just bought one over Christmas and it has taken me a good while to get it printing and figure out exactly what the software/firmware wants me to do to get it to print.

So far I don't think it is 100% set up right, but I have had a few successful prints and they have been pretty good quality. I will be posting videos and some pics of my progress with it for anyone interested.

A short vid of my recently acquired printer in action. This is probably the fourth or so print after just printing a few simple cubes, just for calibration purposes.

Sorry about the video quality, this was shot from my camera phone. I have a better resolution one now, so hopefully they will be better quality from now on.

    Pretty cool !
The detail can be amazing.....a local kid still in HS bought a 3D printer for his father's electrical repair business, messed around with it and got pretty good at using it, and now I believe he is doing 3D architectural work for a couple of nearby firms

    Wow, that's awesome!

This is partly what I was thinking, if you can prototype products with them, if you can think up something that might solve some day to day problems for people, you might eventually be able to mass produce and secure your future in so doing. I did get this for repairs to stuff too, as well as just being cool! Mostly so far I have been making toys and simple things, but I did print a bearing all in one, downloaded from thingyverse. I have yet to properly venture into the design, but I did customise an Iphone case for my sisters Iphone 4, unfortunately I got the dimensions wrong by a few mm and it was a little small.

My biggest problem at present is nozzle blockages, I think its from the print head heating up and not having my fan on. I'm sure there is a setting in the software that will automatically switch it on the same time it starts to heat up, but I have yet to find it.
