    My stress reliever is all about the music. I start grooving along with the songs and forget that I was stressed. Some songs the louder the better.

    Speaking of managing stress, cycling and hiking in the forest or out the country are things that work for me. I made a short video of a "greenway" yesterday that shows off some of the Irish countryside. Just like the kind of videos I'm sure many of you watch, the camera is shaky, there's heavy breathing and you may hear the occasional swearword..

    Hahahahaha, I couldn't stop laughing at the heavy breathing comment and then the heavy breathing hahahah :D

    Nice little clip there. "Oh jesus christ!" :D Is it difficult to do a video and put the text in at the bottom like what you have done in your video?

    I know right?! Didn't think the mic was so sensitive. The whole thing was really easy on my mac using imovie 2009. Wanted to learn how to do this kind of thing.

    Awesome! Sounds good. You can make your videos and have informative material scroll across the bottom, it is a good idea :)

    Daisy, and all:

    I just wanted to come back and 'revisit' this thread, and remark about all the things that have been mentioned which are being used at a local inpatient Crisis Stabilization Unit:

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to include both Group and Individual settings;
    Alone time, or "sensory breaks";
    Activities, to include art classes, hobbies, outings, hikes/walking;
    Watching positive/therapeutic movies;
    Headphones and personal music;
    Pet therapy;
    Tones/binaural beats+Deep Breathing Techniques (DBT)+meditation;
    Use of mild herbals, such as chamomile tea;
    Sleep aids, such as Evening Relaxation Group and medications to induce/maintain/improve sleep cycles; and,
    Encouragement and positive reinforcement.

    Think about that, folks.....together you hit upon practically every method currently in use at an inpatient CSU!

    The only one that we currently use that may not have been mentioned in earlier posts is acupuncture.

    Pretty sharp group we have here! :thumbsup: (y)
